"WILD WOMAN"

This piece is also know as "March Madness" ( in honor of the college basketball tournaments that take place in March each year). The piece is 8 1/2" x 11" and was made in 2002.

My friend, Paula Golden, gave me some scrapes of wild animal fabrics that were on her sewing studio floor and that she was going to throw away. I took them home and used them for my March 2002 journal quilt for the Quilt Art Journal Quilt Project. It was first shown at the Houston International Quilt Festival.

I overlaid the fabric scraps for the background, added yarn hair, button eyes, couched body silhouette, and added beading.
